The Séamus Weekly - week 18

I can hardly believe that yet another week has passed and our sweet little boy, Séamus is one week older!!  We had quite the week with Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Séamus 4th Monthday, and Cyber Monday!!

Then little man had a doctor appointment and Finnley got to tag along because, SAHM life.  Finnley really does not like the doctor.  She starts bawling when we walk into the waiting room, refuses to stand on the scale, and tries with all her might to not look at the nurse (or doctor for that matter).  This is also true for when it's not even her appointment.  She just cannot do the doctor.  NOT this time though! It was probably the best appointment she's been at since she was 1 week old!  To start the story....I actually forgot about the appointment, until our doctor called to ask if we were coming.  Then I loaded to two kids up into the car and whisked our way to the office.  I brought Finnley's Magic Blue Unicorn Roller and rolled it on the back of her neck, on her shoulders, and her wrists.  She was in the best of moods, walked into the exam room, chatted with the nurse and even gave the doctor a high five!!  I mean who is this girl??
Séamus was a champ for his appointment.  He is 24 3/4" tall, weighs 12lbs 4oz and his head measured 16".  He had to get an oral vaccination...which he was really "good" about taking but spit a bunch of it out.  He also got two shots and handled the first one well, the second one was a little too much and he started to cry.  I was able to comfort him and he stopped crying after about 30 seconds.  Then the doctor came in and did his examination then started talking to me about Séa's weight.  I honestly did not expect to ever have the conversation about formula, but these doctor's and the way their brains work...anyways at this point I feel confident that Séamus is healthy, thriving, and developing right on track that the only changes I am making is being more diligent with my Fennel Roller, increasing my water intake, and ensuring I'm getting enough calories.

Eats:  well as I mentioned above Séamus is still nursing.  We breastfeed multiple times a day and a few times a night.  I posted about how much I love nursing him on my IG the other day and I am really just focusing on how good it really is and to get our doctor's comments out of my head.  I have had several conversations with friends over the years regarding this topic and I've always said to them, that as long as baby is healthy, thriving, and developing then they are enough...I just need to make that my mantra.

Sleeps: baby boy is still swaddled and sleeps the best that way.  He has managed to escape at least one arm most of the time but is still able to sleep.  I have been trying to see if we can ditch the swaddles but some times he is just not ready for it.  He has managed to fall asleep a couple of times all on his own both on his playmat and in his crib...so I know it's possible it just doesn't last too long.

Wears: I am slowly switching out the 0-3 and bringing in more of the 3-6 into his dresser.  He is also still in size 1 diapers but I made sure to switch it to size 2 for our next shipment.  I have been doing some research and am wondering if I am using the best diapers for my sweet little boy.  It's just crazy the ingredients that they put into these diapers that sit on our babies (near their reproductive organs) for years!! I can't wait to be done with them.  So if you know of a disposable diaper that is low in toxins and chemicals I would love to know!!

Goes: we made a road trip over the mountains to my in-laws for Thanksgiving.  Little boy was the best traveler sleeping practically the whole time, the girls did amazingly well too.  We spent all day Thanksgiving in their house and then ventured for out on Friday for about a 3 hour trip and Séamus slept the entire time!! It was wild, I was able to transfer him from the car seat to the ergo and back!! Amazing!  He also went to his 4 month appointment.

Does: he loves to play in his exersaucer, rolls over, loves tummy time.  He has continued to squeal with delight when he is happy, grunts and coos and squeals when its nursing time.  He has been grabbing his feet a lot, arching his back when its time to get into the car (half the time), and loves to stand up with our assistance.  He can track us with his eyes and looks around when he hears our voices.  When he sees me, he gets the biggest smile.

Mama: aside from the comments at his appointment, I am doing great!! I am enjoying all of this time with my kiddos.  Watching them grow and mature and develop is the best.  Being home is probably my favorite thing because not only to I get to be a part of my kiddos daily lives but they get to spend all day together forming a bond and friendship that they wouldn't necessarily otherwise get to have.  I had some great sales with my business this week and I ranked up to Executive (YL income disclosure)!! Which is such an accomplishment that I really wasn't sure was going to happen!!  I had hopes and dreams that this would happen but I figured it wouldn't happen until the New Year, thankfully I have the best Leader and without her I wouldn't be as successful as I am.  I absolutely love that I can share oils with people and help them bring a new Wellness Journey into their homes and lives!! Want to join my team?? Enroll here!!

Sisters: Oh my word these two girls are absolutely rocking at life.  Finnley is talking more and more every day and I can understand more and more which is so fun.  She completely adores her baby brother and must be near him 75% of the time.  She loves to be near all of us and has begun requesting to "Cuddle Mama" or "Cuddle Dada" on the daily.  It is just the sweetest thing ever.  She has also started to like being held and will walk up to us and as us to "Carry" her.  I just love seeing her little personality shine through.  She does get very frustrated when she asks for something and we cannot understand it.  Finnley still does a great job at independent play and loves to build things.  She also has an affinity for small objects (anything will do) and will be attached to them for hours, or days.  Her current favorites are: a fold up map from Disneyland, a battery operated tea light candle, and a toy phone.
Ellie is doing so well at school.  She is loving learning and is so interested in all of the letters.  We were watching the tv the other day and she read the word FOX for the channel icon.  It was seriously the coolest thing ever!! Ellie is constantly saying words and letting us know which letter it starts with and she has been counting and doing math on her own all the time.  I just adore how much she is loving learning and what a sponge she is. She also has a loose tooth which just makes my stomach turn.  This is the one thing that I have not been looking forward to because it just grosses me out so very much.  She doesn't seem to be too interested in losing it and seems to think the Tooth Fairy is going to give her chocolate for it...which she is not a fan of.  Additionally she cannot keep herself away from Séamus and must attack him with a million kisses ten thousand times a day.
Sometimes I just find myself smiling as I watch them all be themselves and am so grateful and blessed to get to be their Mama.

Cyber Monday Deals!!

We had a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday and are gearing up for the Christmas Season!!

This is my first Cyber Monday with Young Living and I just have to tell you that these deals are insane!  I have pretty much already professed my love for Thieves on here, all the cleaning products are my favorite.  Thomas and I drink Ningxia daily (I even got him to ditch the energy drinks!!!).  And I am learning more and more about our personal care products and make up and the fact that there are basically zero regulations as to what can go into them.  We are putting that on our faces and its getting absorbed into our skin and then our bloodstream takes it all throughout our body.  So the fact that Young Living has a make up line, Savvy Minerals, brings me so much peace of mind and happiness!

Young Living is just as Passionate about these products as I am and they are offering 20% off of these products Today!!

So here are the deals for Cyber Monday!!

I would love for you to be able to take advantage of this sale and to have you on my team!  I want to run with you and hold your hand and help you get all this goodness into your home and life.

The Séamus Weekly - week 17

I can't believe our little man, Séamus, is going to be celebrating his very first Thanksgiving tomorrow!! We're going to be heading over the mountains to spend the holiday with family and the girls are extra excited to be celebrating with their favorites!!

Eats: well, little man is still all about the boob and eats regularly throughout the day (and night).  He gets super excited when it's nursing time and the squeals and coos just make me smile.

Sleeps: Séamus has had some great naps and some not so great naps this week.  He is still waking multiple times a night to eat and is such a happy boy in the morning.

Goes: I took all three kids to Ellie's cheerleading this week and the two littles did awesome.  Finnley loved watching it all and Séamus just ate and slept the whole time. We had a busy birthday party filled weekend for Ellie, and Séamus had fun hanging out with the Ladies for Supper Club.  We all tagged along to my Nephew's 3rd birthday on Sunday up at my grandparent's place and all the kids had so much fun playing together.

Does: little Séa has been loving the exersaucer and is getting quite good at it.  He is continuing to do an awesome job at tummy time and can roll over when ever he wants.  He has found his toes and I find him in "Happy Baby" position practically all of the time.  His laughs, smiles, coo's, and talking is just the best and I am loving watching him grow and progress on the daily.

Wears: still mostly in 0-3 but we are phasing in some 3-6 month clothes and I am so excited to get more of it on him, our stockpile is huge and I just love it all.  He is fitting into size 1 diapers well, but I am thinking our next shipment should probably be size 2...because baby likes to eat.

Mama: I am prepping hard for all of the Black Friday, Small Shop Saturday, and Cyber Monday deals with Young Living and cannot wait to welcome you all to my team!!  I am offering $25 back on new enrollments with any Premium Starter Kit through Black Friday and getting to be a part of your Wellness Journey is my favorite thing!!  I am been soaking up all of this time with my sweet little babe knowing that he is the last one.  I feel so at peace with our family and so grateful that I get to be a Mama for a third time.  I am doing my best to stay in a positive mindset as we approach the holiday season because while Thanksgiving and Christmas are full of so much happiness, this season is also riddled with so much sadness over our first miscarriage and the cancer diagnosis of my mom.

Sisters: Ellie keeps exclaiming in excitement that this is Séamus first Turkey Day, gets in his face about it, and tries with all her might to get a giggle out of him.  Finnley continues to be attached to the boy and has the hardest time keeping her hands body to herself.

Our Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Happy Thanksgiving Week!!

I did a poll on my Facebook several weeks ago about "What your Favorite Pie is" and so many people chose Pumpkin, this made my heart swell because it's my favorite too.  We actually have Pumpkin Pie all year long.  I've been making the same recipe for about 8 years and just recently updated it to use some Essential Oils because their flavor is seriously the best!

I'm so grateful that Young Living has their Vitality line of oils, so that I know they are safe to consume...talk about that Easy Button!!  Incorporating EOs into my cooking and baking has seriously been so much fun!

I'm not going to lie, I'm sort of a Pie Snob so naturally I think mine is the best 😉

I didn't used to like Pumpkin Pie, it was mushy and didn't have much flavor. But then I came across a recipe, failed to include an ingredient (oversight) and it turned out to be my favorite ever!!  It is fully of spicy pumpkin flavor and firm.  It is as simple as can be!

I use my mom's pie crust recipe because she made the best!

Pie Crust (makes a double crust):

2 1/4 c flour
1/3 c sugar
1 stick butter
1 stick margarine
1 tsp salt
5 Tbsp cold water (or more)

+ In a food processor add in flour, sugar, and salt. Pulse a few times to mix.
+ Cube up the butter and margarine add into the processor.  Pulse a few times to mix
+ Add in 3 Tbsp cold water and pulse to combine, add in more water as needed and process until dough comes together.
+ Dump out onto a flour surface.  Divide in two, wrap up one half and place in the fridge to use later.  With the remaining half, roll out to fit your pie dish and place into your pie dish.  Roll and crimp the edges and then put into fridge to cool down.

Pumpkin Pie Filling:

1 can Pumpkin
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 Egg
2 drops Clove Vitality
2 drops Thieves Vitality
2 drops Nutmeg Vitality
3 drops Cinnamon Bark Vitality
1 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
1 tsp Cardamom

+ Preheat Oven to 375༠
+ Whisk all ingredients together until well combined
+ Pour into prepared pie crust shell. Cover edges with a Pie Shield or foil
+ Bake for 60-70 minutes or until filling is set in the center
+ Let cool and refridgerate for at least 3 hours

+ Slice and serve on its own, with Whipped Cream (made extra special with 1 drop Cinnamon Bark Vitality), or Vanilla Ice Cream!

Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

The Séamus Weekly - week 16

Sweet little Séamus is already 16 weeks, I can hardly believe it!!  He is doing so well and is a pretty chill little guy, which really helps even out the crazy in our house!!  He's been sticking out his tongue, rolling onto his side, and just taking every thing in.

Eats: still all about the boobs.  He eats regularly throughout the day and is still nursing at least twice at night. I can tell a major difference when I use some fennel oil and his nursing sessions, I am so glad I have my oils!!

Sleeps: when we are home and I'm able to get him all swaddled up and down for a nap he sleeps so well, but he has also been sleeping in his new car seat, in the Ergo, on our laps, and just about anywhere!!  I also tried diffusing a few times during his naps and that proved to be a very good choice.  Every kid is different, Sleepyize works great for the girls but Séamus seems to respond well to Peace & Calming II.

Goes: little man (and the rest of the fam) drove down to Portland!! It was Finnley and Séamus first trip there.  We went and toured a Mansion, checked out a park (in the wind), and had some delicious grub!!  Then we also went to all the regular suspects: store, school, cheer, swimming and our nanny house.

Wears: same as last week, though I'm thinking we're going to try getting him into some 3-6month clothes here pretty soon.  Still wearing Size 1 diapers and we just got a huge new box, so hopefully he'll still fit in them coming up!

Does: loves tummy time and can roll over some of the time.  We also pulled out the exersaucer and he has been having a blast in that.  He rolls onto his side, found his feet and sticks his tongue out all the time.  He knows when boobies are near and makes the best little squeal.

Mama: I am feeling great!! We are fast approaching the holiday season and I am making an effort to make sure I fully enjoy this last first holiday season for the boy!  I am still really enjoying my business and getting to share oils with all of my peeps!!  I just adore having all three of our children and watching them grow and form relationships with each other.  I often find myself just sitting in awe that I get to have them in my life and be their mom!!  We have a had a couple of rough days here and there, that is to be expected and I know that it will pass and I just try to stay positive.  Raising little humans is hard but I love it!!

Sisters: both girls are still just as obsessed as ever.  Ellie is excelling in school and I love all of the little drawings that she is making.  She drew a picture the other day of her and Séamus and drew a penis on Séamus so that we would know it was him.  She also announced that she is Beautiful because she is a girl and Séamus is Handsome because he is a boy...so there's that folks.  Finnley is rocking life as a big sister and loves to be near Séamus at all times.  She loves to laugh at him in the car and is always wanting to know where he is.  Additionally she is more obsessed with her baby dolls and loves to bring them with her wherever she goes.
