Little Things - Baby Wearing {giveaway}

If there is one thing I have learned on this crazy journey of parenthood is that wearing your baby is your friend.

Back in June we went on a whirlwind tour of Scotland and Ireland (I still need to get those posts up!).  It was our first flight with Ellie and since she is under 2 she got to fly for free!  In addition we weren't planning on bringing a whole lot of stuff with us and as it was more of a road trip - we didn't have much room either.

My baby carrier was my BEST FRIEND on this trip!  It was the only thing that kept Ellie content while on the airplanes - if I took her out she would be so squirley, was much easier to use than a stroller everywhere, and it allowed us a bunch of bonding time which I feel is so crucial - not to mention she slept in it a lot.  While we only had the Ergo with us, it definitely earned its keep on that trip.

Since we have returned from our trip I have made it a priority to still wear Ellie at some point and time every day.  My Ergo was great but I wanted to experiment with other types of baby wearing and carries that the Ergo just doesn't allow.

Enter in Solly Baby Wrap.  I started following them on IG a while ago and love their story, you can read it HERE.  Then I saw that Jessica posted about her SBW a bunch and I just had to get my hands on one!

I thought my Ergo was good, but I had NO idea what I was missing out on.  The fabric on my SBW is so soft.  I love the different colors they come in and I am huge on working with small businesses.  I chose the Coral wrap and love it so much.  When I wrap Ellie up in this, there are no pressure points and my back feels great after I put her down (such was not the case with my other one).

I just love the bond that Ellie and I have through baby wearing (especially since we didn't get that inutero as she is adopted). I know Ellie loves to be worn because she always gets so excited when she sees that I'm grabbing my wrap. It's the cutest thing.

Another great thing about Solly Baby is that you can wear your child correctly so as not to affect their hips. It's very important to know that it is not good for your child's physical development to be worn facing outwards. It's always best for them to be facing towards you!  I've done a lot of research on baby wearing and have a plethora of knowledge, so if you have a question I can help you out!

So if you are looking into baby wearing and want to try out a wrap I highly recommend Solly Baby Wraps.
And because they are so awesome they are offering one SBW to one lucky winner! Just fill out the widget below for your chance!!

  5. I have a Moby Wrap (similar to what you're wearing here) but I've only used it a few times. Ryder seems to hate being confined in it and he screamed the first few times I put him in it. We've used our Baby Bjorn carrier a bit, but even that he'll only tolerate for a little while. He's such a squirmy thing, always arching his back... I wish he would just cuddle with me!! You're so lucky. :-)

  6. I totally agree about baby-wearing for the win while traveling!! I always fly sans stroller! You have inspired me to whip out the carrier at home, though! For me it's always been more of a travel thing, but why not?? It's my goal for the week!
