Wow!! I can't believe how quickly the time has gone! We made our 3rd trip to Disneyland this past February (the same week as our 1st trip, read about it here) and we had a blast! We made the decision to go sort of last minute as we had already booked a trip to Disney World for April 2016, but then we got matched with a birthmom who was due at the beginning of April and we knew that the timing wouldn't work for us. So instead of bagging the whole trip we switched up the plans and went to Disneyland in February!!
For this trip, we traveled again with Thomas' parents and Ellie just loved getting to have her Nanny and Papa there!
Like our trip back in September (read about it here) we took an early morning flight, which meant we needed to be up and ready to leave the house at 3:30 in the morning!!! Thankfully this time around we spent the night at Thomas' parents house, which allowed us an extra 30 minutes of Zzzz's!
In the car and on our way to the airport...
someone was a little bit tired....
We decided to try taking Nanny's stroller for this trip so while we were waiting at the gate to board the plane we had to deck it out in Disney stickers. And Ellie in all her Disney attire ... those shoes!!!
Once we were on the plane our sweet little did what she does best on planes...sleeps! We are so lucky to have a babe who can sleep just about anywhere, I'm sure it helps with her attitude!!
Part of the reason for the trip was to celebrate Papa's 60th birthday! So we stayed at a Disney Resort: Paradise Pier. A giant surfing Goofy greets guests as they arrive and Ellie was all about him!
She couldn't take her eyes off of him while we were waiting to check in and make our way to our room.
I didn't get any pictures of our room. I was a standard room with 2 Queen beds overlooking the pool area. It was clean and served its purpose as a place for us to sleep. Since we got such an early flight we arrived at Disneyland an hour after they opened and we got right in on the Disney action!! Girlfriend was so excited to be back at the Happiest Place on Earth!!
We made a beeline for the first ride, King Arthur's Carousel...always! I hope that it's a tradition she keeps her whole life long! The horse Ellie is riding is named Doubloon because it had a gold tooth and was Lilly Disney's favorite horse on the Carousel.
Ellie lucked out because Papa was walking a little slow into the park so he got in line for the Carousel after us and she got to ride two times in row!!
Thomas wanted to take a try at pulling the sword out of the stone...nope! but if you look closely you can see Ellie and Papa riding the Carousel!!
Next stop was the teacups. We learned from our first trip that not all 5 of us can comfortably fit in a teacup together so the 3 of us were in one while Nanny and Papa got in another.
The line for Alice and Wonderland was ridiculous so we headed back into the main part of Fantasyland and got in line for Snow White's Scary Adventure. And Ellie was getting lots of compliments on her moccs!
It wouldn't be a Disney trip without a churro!! And I got this one over in California Adventure right by the Starbucks, my favorite Churro Cart in DCA.
The wait for California Screemin was super short so Thomas, Papa and myself got in line...I couldn't remember where the camera was, so this is what you're gonna get! Meanwhile Nanny took Ellie back to the room for a quick nap.
Ellie and Nanny met back up with us and we went over to check out Red, because Ellie is obsessed with Cars and Firetrucks, the perfect combination...but then he made his siren go off to "talk" to her and freaked the shit out of her!
To calm her down we took her for a ride on Mater's Junkyard Jamboree which is her favorite!
Walking by the Cozy Cones we saw Mater so we jumped in line but she was nervous he was going to be really loud like Red and refused to take a photo by herself!!
We were the last ones in line with Mater and then Lightening was up so we waited in line again to see the Fast guy!!
Back over to Fantasyland for another ride on the Carousel and Ellie rode on Jingles the "lead horse" on the Carousel and Walt's favorite.
Then we hopped back onto the Teacups and got to ride while the Parade was going on...the best time to ride if you're sick of the Mad Hatter song!!
And that is the end of Day 1. Another Marathon of a day at Disneyland...the only way we like to do it! We headed back to the room around 10pm.
