The Wednesday Weekly - Week 48

Here we are, another week down and another week closer to this little babe turning ONE year old!!  We are less than a month away from her birthday and I am looking forward to soaking up all that these last several weeks have to give.  Sweet girl has been quite the babe this week and I am just thrilled spending every day with her.

Week 48

Eats: I have really been mindful of incorporating more solids into Finnley's diet this week.  Pouches are my new favorite way to feed her.  I usually start out with a spoon and then we move on to her just sucking out of it!  I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly she picked up on sucking out of the pouch.  The other thing that I really like about the pouches is that they offer a wide variety of different foods and flavors...something that Ellie really missed out on.  But let me tell you that sweet Finn is all about her bottle and I can tell that dropping the bottle before naps and bedtime is going to be a bit difficult for her.  One think that we are lacking on is getting the babe to self feed, she can do it but I feel like she needs assistance...so this week I am going to put forth more of an effort to get her to feed herself some puffs, melts and other finger foods.

Sleeps: the Finn has been getting a bit better in the sleep department.  Our Weekend was busy so her naps were off but somehow we lucked out with the time change (I remember Ellie was great with her first time change too) and she has been sleeping pretty good the past couple of days.  We still have the babe sleeping for 11 hours at night and then get at least 2 hours for her naps.

Goes: we worked an extra day this week and got to join my nanny kid on his school field trip, we visited the mall and attended an event at the Disney store, made a trip to Target, the Zoo, got flowers, and a trip to the Library.  Sweet babe just goes along and has such a great attitude.  She love to watch and observe everything.

Does: she is waving, gives high fives, standing on her own!!! and grabs for everything.  I am convinced that she has Go-go-Gadget arms because she can reach just about anything.  She is making all sorts of noises that I believe is her "language" and she can vocally respond to us with is so fun.  She makes the most noise in the car seat when we are driving around and I just love her commentary.

Mama: seriously y'all this is the best stage and I am loving every second of it.  I love getting glimpses of my girls and their friendship through the years.  My birthday is coming up on Friday and I have to say that this birthday is one that I am most looking forward to.  While my hearts desire is to have 4 kids I can't express how satisfied I am with my two girls.  I just feel like I am in a really good place right now, both mentally and emotionally and it feels so freeing.  I didn't realize how deep in I was with my infertility until I got a new perspective.

Sister: Ellie loves her sister and Finnley loves her sister.  They are quite the pair and Ellie for sure gets the biggest and best smiles out of Finnley.  They laugh and play and Ellie is doing pretty good at sharing with Finn.  I love that Finnley is able to do more and that they can really enjoy each other.

Our Weekend - the zoo, beach, and Beauty and the Beast party

We had ourselves quite the weekend.  Spending time with my family fills up my soul and watching these two girls is just about everything.

On Saturday we were up and at 'em early (per usual) because we had a Beauty and the Beast event at our local Disney Store!!  We are Disney card holders and that comes with some perks.  So Ellie got dressed up in her Belle's finest and we made a morning of it.

All the kids got to watch some previews of the upcoming release, join in some activities and make a paper Chip cup! It was so cute and Ellie had a blast.  Once the event was over we had time to shop in the store before they officially opened for business.  (the even started 1 hour prior to opening)

After we finished up at the Disney Store we walked around the mall and then took the girls to the play area (it was nutso!!) and it was so fun having them play at the mall that I grew up going to.  While we were there we ran into Ellie's cousin so they had some fun running around together.

We headed home for naps and then when the girls woke up we made our way to Target.  I am always on the lookout for something green (no matter what time of year) for the girls and when I spotted these dresses I just couldn't help myself!!  They each got one and I am so excited for them to be twinning on my birthday this Friday!!!

and I stopped to look in the dollar spot...nice work Target way to follow instructions (lol)

Later that night Ellie really wanted to do some painting.  So I got out all the supplies, printed out my "stencil" and finished up Finnley's birth stats artwork!  The flowers were all free hand and then I used the old school carbon copy technique to paint the lettering.  It's a little crooked but that's okay.

Sunday morning was like any other day.  We got up at our regular "time" and made a day of it.  We started with the zoo and everyone had a great time.  Finnley was all bundled up as was Ellie and I was just glad I remembered a vest...one of these days I'll have cold weather figured out.

The zoo has a bunch of Peacocks that just wander the property and it's so fun spotting them.  Also they had the vet out to check out the Penguins so we had fun watching the staff corral them into a corner.  It was a great day to be at the zoo, all the animals were so active.  The apes were swinging all around, the Tapir was running and jumping and the Walrus was whistling all day (you could hear him all over the zoo).

After the zoo we made it to our favorite Fish'n'Chips place and checked out the beach front afterwards.  I love these two girls and I cannot wait for Finnley to be walking on her own so we can get some killer shots of the two of them.  But for now I will take all of these I can get.

We stopped at one of my favorite stores to get ingredients for dinner and the floral dept gave both of the girls free flowers!  I'll take them ;)

Ellie was so tuckered out on the way home she fell asleep in mid bite of her cake pop!!

Once home we tried to convince the girls to continue their naps, I went out and did a deep clean on the chicken coop (our plan is to convert it into a playhouse this summer) and then made dinner, trying to get our Irish spirit on for my upcoming birthday!! Irish Brown Bread, my first time making it and it was so easy, and Shepherd's Pie with lamb.  It was bomb dot com!!!

The Wednesday Weekly - Week 47

Wow!! I can't believe how close we are getting to this little babe being a ONE year old!! She still is not walking but totally making the moves towards getting there!! I am hoping that she starts that soon because I love it when the babes can walk - it's my favorite.  We had ourselves another busy week and I am just soaking up all of these last few weeks of her being a "baby"

Week 47

Eats: I've been relying heavily on the bottles this week and with her birthday looming and the hopes of transitioning away from the bottles I better start getting her to eat some more solids.  But the bottles are just so easy!!!  I love that she can hold them herself and this came in very handy the other day when we had to venture into Costco right when she was hungry...so I improvised for multitasking!! I can't believe how much praise and laughs I received walking through the store like this...but I am sure there were just as many judging eyes (though I tried to not make eye contact with anyone).

Sleeps: well it looks as if the babe is sleeping about 11 hours at night and still takes about 2 naps a day.  One is usually about 45 minutes while the other borders on 2-2.5 hours.  She is sleeping in the car seat, in the crib, in the bed at the hotel, and in a pack'n'play.  I love that she is getting to be an "easy" sleeper and that really helps us since we love to travel and go places!

Goes: I feel like the Finn has been just about everywhere this week!  We've been to the mall play area (gotta love free indoor play areas), to the library for play time, and we made a road trip up to Vancouver, BC!! In Vancouver we shopped, dined, parked and beached and this babe had her go with the flow attitude the whole time!!

Does: Finnley is pulling up on everything, she is starting to cruise and is working on standing up on her own!! She can stand for at least 5 seconds (maybe longer?) on her own...although I still have yet to get a picture of it.  She also cut her 7th tooth this week while we were in Canada and I am just loving all of her progression!!  Oh and she is also putting all the things in her mouth, and of course her favorite thing is paper!! Why oh why do babes love paper in their mouths so much? I also love how she is playing and interacting with all the toys - for some reason I don't really remember Ellie doing that so much.

Mama: I have had a few migraines and headaches this week but luckily I have been on top of my pain management and it hasn't hindered me in any way.  Just getting to watch these two beauties grow up is my favorite and I am so happy to be able to be their Mama!

Sister: Ellie is loving her sister so much. They are both wanting to play with each other more and more and I just love it.  I am hoping that they continue to be friends and love each other all the time - I know there will be fights and disagreements but I just hope that I can foster a good relationship for them!
